New Zealand Breakers statement on Corey Webster

New Zealand Breaker and Tall Black Corey Webster was sent home prior to the Olympic qualifiers against the Boomers. Much specualtion has been surrounding Websters return to New Zealand and the Breakers released a statement this morning.

The statement says that the Breakers were informed by Webster that he recieved advice from the Australian Anti-Doping Authority regarding a “positive test for a prohibited substance”.

The Breakers understand that Webster tested positive to a synthetic form of cannabis which is not illegal in New Zealand and is not performance enhancing. Webster is currently seeking legal advice and is planning to present a detailed case to the Arbitration Court.
